New Delhi:- Samsung , expanding its smartphone portfolio in India, has launched two new devices under its Galaxy A-series, the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017). The Galaxy A5 is priced at Rs 28,990, while its more powerful version costs Rs 33,490. The two smartphones will be available in the country starting March 15. Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 come in Black Sky and Gold Sand colour options in India.
The South Korean tech company introduced its Galaxy A (2017) lineup earlier this year, just before CES 2017 . The series includes Galaxy A3 (2017), which has not been launched in India yet. With the launch of the Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy A5 2017 versions the company has brought dust and water resistance (IP68) rating to Galaxy A series smartphones for the first time.
The duo also sport Samsung-specific features like Samsung Cloud storage and Secure Folder, which debuted with Galaxy Note 7 last year. The dual-SIM smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) features a 5.7-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is backed by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz, clubbed with 3GB RAM. The smartphone includes 32GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD card support. The device bears a 16MP autofocus rear camera along with a 16MP front-facing camera, both of which feature f/1.9 aperture. The smartphones also boasts of features like Food Mode and other filters.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) measures 156.8 x 77.6 x 7.9mm and is powered by a 3600mAh battery with fast-charging technology. Features such as fingerprint sensor and Samsung KNOX too are included. The connectivity options that come with the smartphone are 4G LTE Cat 6., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C and NFC.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has almost the same set of specifications as the Galaxy A7 (2017) except for the display, battery and size. It sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution Super display, 3000mAh battery and measures 146.1×71.4×7.9mm.
